Why we should all see make-up as a form of self care.

I used to think being into make-up was an act of vanity but the more I see the results of confidence boosting make-up the more I see it as a form of self care. And I’m not necessarily talking about a full face of glam make-up, I’m thinking about make-up that looks and feels effortless.

In the last few years my bespoke make-up lessons have become really popular for women of all ages. I think I find them the most rewarding service I offer. In the space of a couple of hours I see a huge increase in my client’s confidence- with the skills they learn and the way they see themselves.

Taking even just 5 minutes to focus on yourself in the morning can make a big difference to your day. Just pick the make-up which will have the biggest impact. When I’m pushed for time it’s eyeliner, mascara and concealer. For you it could be lippie and bronzer. Whatever it is, don’t feel guilty for making time for it!

We all have days where we can’t be bothered to leave the house and there is nothing wrong with that. For the other days- taking pride in your appearance can take your mood up a level. I think make-up should fall into the same category as washing your hair and putting on clean clothes! Enjoy applying make-up and enjoy the results.
