As we say goodbye to summer we usually say hello to dry, lacklustre skin.
Here are some tips I swear by to help give skin and make-up a boost at this time of year.
Think about hydration at every step, for skincare look for ingredients which boost hydration, like hyaluronic acid, squaline and ceramides. The Ordinary skincare website is a great place to research ingredients to find what will suit your skin type. I personally avoid washing my face with soapy cleansers in the winter as they leave my skin dry and tight. Instead I like to use cleansing balms like the Rosalique 3 in 1 Balm Cleanser. Slathered on like a mask and removed with a hot cloth to leave skin super soft and calm.
When it comes to make-up, really assess your products. Does the foundation look a bit cakey? Try switching formula or add a hydrating spritz during and after application. Try keeping skin powder to a minimum, just on areas prone to shine- usually the T-zone. Opt for creme blush/concealer to help skin glow instead of looking flat and dull. Use fresh colours for blush- a glowy peach instead of a dusky rose can be transformative!
