Bridal make-up trends for 2026

First things first, I’m not a slave to trends because ultimately they will fall out of fashion and look dated. I prefer to pick the elements of trends that I think are worthy of being part of a classic look.

This is why I don’t favour a fully matte or fully dewy skin look, rather pulling them both together to suit my clients’ skin type and style.

I’ve been reading a lot about the trend forecasts for soft grunge, colour and a ‘less perfect’ aesthetic for make-up this year. As you probably know I absolutely love statement eye make-up, in particular a smoky eye. I love to pair this with great skin make-up that looks fresh and clean.

As a nod to 90’s grunge (think Kate Moss on a night out in London) greys and taupes are said to be making a comeback. Great if you have cool toned skin. If you have a warm undertone try taupes blended with mid brown for a more wearable shade.

For bridal I hope to see a shift away from the often requested gold and brown shades for eye make-up towards cooler tones and perhaps bolder, heavier eye make-up for a more dramatic look. Golden shades usually work on everyone but sometimes it seems like a safe option which doesn’t always enhance the eye colour to the max. Soft smoky eye make-up always photographs beautifully, so it ticks a lot of boxes for wedding make-up.

Whatever your style and vision, I’m here to bring it to life!
